We are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual "Hike for Their Home." On July 18th, at 3:30 am, a team from Cheyenne Mountain Resort is dedicating themselves to hike the 14,000 ft Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado all in the name of the children and families of Maison des Enfant des Dieu orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Last year the group hiked and helped with the rent of the facility. This year they are even more excited to help with the purchase of land and the building project for the orphanage.
The team is hoping to raise some of the funds necessary to help with the land to be purchased and the building project. This purchase could help change the face of the ministry. Currently, For His Glory Outreach needs to pay $14,500 in rent every six months. Imagine if we can alleviate this burden by moving them to orphanage-owned land and building. By removing this payment, children and families within the community can be ministered to in a greater way. This couldn't come at a better time after the recent devastation.
Moving the orphanage out of Port Au Prince, which is over populated, to a safer more structurally sound environment is the goal. After the earthquake, the orphanage received damage to its walls and buildings. While it is habitable, it is NOT ideal. There is so much more that the ministry could do in a new environment and we are excited to be able to be a small part in the change. Will you join us?
They say "no pain, no gain" right? Well, this is where you come in. While the hiking team is willing to endure the "pain," we are asking that you help the orphanage and the children to "gain." We are asking friends, families, coworkers, small groups and anyone else to join us in this effort. Will you please sponsor a hiker and help us to raise funds? ALL SPONSORSHIPS WILL GO TO FUND THE LAND AND ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE; DONORS WILL RECEIVE A TAX DEDUCTIBLE RECEIPT FROM FHG.
